Black Room
Depuis sa création dans les années 1970 et son essor dans les années 1980 et 1990, la création vidéo est aujourd’hui bien intégrée dans l’art contemporain et a acquis un rythme de croisière avec des productions parfaitement hybrides et décomplexées, flirtant avec l’industrie cinématographique ou avec l’amateurisme le plus complet, mêlant les genres du documentaire et de la fiction.
En complément de son activité de production dans le cadre de 40mcube – AV, 40mcube souhaite donner un aperçu de cette diversité en dédiant l’un de ses espaces à une programmation internationale de films d’artistes. La programmation de la Black Room est conçue de manière indépendante ou en lien avec les expositions. Dans ce nouvel espace sera projeté en boucle un film par mois.
Since its creation in the 1970’s and its rise in contemporary art in the 80’s and 90’s, video art has today become well integrated into the art world and has reached its cruising speed, creating perfectly uninhibited and hybrid productions; flirting with the film industry or the most complete form of amateurism, blending the genres of documentary and fiction.
In addition to the branch of 40mcube-AV, relating to other short films produced previously, 40mcube wishes to outline the diversity of its films by dedicating a space to the art films of international artists. The programming of the Black Room is designed in a way that it can run independently or be part of other exhibitions. In this space, one film per month is screened in loop.
