The Woop collective, made up of Romain Bobichon, Paul Brunet, Camille Girard and Yoan Sorin, usually invites artists to work in residence.
For the exhibition Instructions, presented at the Hub Hug, the invitation is different: the members of WOOP invited artists to give them protocols, instructions, directions.
The collective uses the Hub Hug as a workshop and makes works before and during the exhibition based on the instructions given by the invited artists.
The four members of the collective have each invited three artists (Romain Bobichon: François Curlet – Miquel Mont – Fabio Viscogliosi; Camille Girard and Paul Brunet: Georges-Henri Guedj – Blaise Parmentier – Eva Taulois; Yoan Sorin: Karina Bisch – Christophe de Rohan Chabot (on the instructions of Hamishi Farah) – Florian Sumi). The work is designed by the guest artist and produced by one of the members of the collective, following exchanges and discussions conducted at a distance. The instructions take different forms: list of titles, oral exchange, mode of installation sent by sms, precise execution plan to follow, discussion by e-mail, etc. The interpretation of the instructions is what motivates the exhibition.
Baths to be taken, images to be modified, a concert, a car to be painted, static or moving works, pieces to be activated and performed in order to multiply the appointments with the public and to renew the exhibition every week.
