40mcube hosts at HubHug the exhibition Shunt, Shunting… Shunted! by GEMINI 8.
In electro-technics, “Shunt” means bypass or shunt. Switching, manoeuvring, diverting… Whether the diversion is voluntary or accidental, this title suggests bypassing the operation of a system.
Through installation, photography, video and sound, the artists question their relationship to time, drift and tilting. Thus, several temporalities are considered: the instant T, the act in progress, the event already operated.
At the suggestion of the international collective Shipsides and Beggs Project, the exhibition will be accompanied by a musical performance, bringing together the work of young students from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art of Bourges. Prolonging the research carried out in workshops within the school, their work will resonate with the works presented.
