In 2021, the Community of Communes Val d’Ille-Aubigné invited artists to build an ephemeral artistic route along the Ille-et-Rance Canal. Some works, permanently installed since the creation of the circuit, offer today to visitors and tourists passing through to have another look on a landscape and a familiar heritage.

In 2023, the Val d’Ille-Aubigné wishes to complete its circuit of works with the creation of a new perennial work whose artistic proposal resonates with the landscape and highlights the existing heritage along the canal. Following a proposal by 40mcube, Makiko Furuichi was invited to take over the storage shed of the Chanclin lockhouse in Montreuil-sur-Ille. She creates a fresco that covers the entire building with colorful vegetal motifs. Located on the edge of the greenway and the canal, the house is visible to all users on foot, by bike, on horseback or by boat.
