Intervention in the public space
Exhibition presented as part of Incorporated! 5th edition of the Ateliers de Rennes – Biennale d'art contemporain.
Work conceived in collaboration with Camille Blin and François Blatrix.
Music: Clément Caignart (Prison Food Sucks).
Actor: Massimo Dean.
Extra: Victor Vialles.
Inspired by the devices of advertising and cinema that manipulate emotions, fears and fascinations, Camille Blatrix never ceases in her work to question, admire and depreciate stereotypical images and their impact on our imagination and feelings. He wonders about common signs, about uses, in order to “distance himself from a purely sculptural work”. The artist works so that for the objects he makes, the installations he designs, “the public can take part in them, have a decision, or integrate into them”.
Camille Blatrix is invited to carry out a project intended to appear in various public spaces in the city of Rennes. He designs a mobile stage, the support of a show that will appear in different places throughout the biennial. The artist's relationship with sculpture and narrative is reflected in this original project, a real development of his practice in the exhibition project Incorporated! produced in co-production with 40mcube.
Camille Blatrix is represented by Balice Hertling.
